I know, shocking right. Depending on why you're tanning will help define when is actually the best time to tan. This is because tanning solutions take up to 24 hours to reach their full colour potential. Giving a 48 hour buffer helps ensure your tan is at its full potential and there is room for touch ups in case something happens (tan isn't rinsed properly, accidentally touched your developing tan while sleeping... etc)

Wedding Tans
Wedding tans should be applied 2 days before the wedding. The reason behind this is so the tanning solution has time to reach its full colour potential and gives some time between applying the tan and the wedding for touch ups if necessary.
Thursday wedding = tan Tuesday
Friday wedding = tan Wednesday
Saturday wedding = tan Thursday
Sunday wedding = tan Friday
Event/performance tanning
Like weddings, it is best to tan 2 days prior to your event. Again, this is to allow the tan optimal time to reach its full colour potential and saves you rushing around the night before or the day of your event.
Monday event = Saturday tan
Tuesday event = Sunday tan
Wednesday event = Monday tan

Holiday tanning
When it comes to holiday tanning, it is best to tan the night before you jet off on your adventure. This is to ensure your tan can last through a longer portion of your holiday or the whole trip depending how long you're travelling for.
